It is with great pleasure and excitement that we announce that Future Form will soon be launching its own comprehensive Pilates teacher training programme at our teacher training facility in Nice.
The Future Form Pilates Teacher Training Programme will be unique in the Pilates world, as a comprehensive programme that bridges the gap between the Classical and Contemporary Pilates schools and philosophies. The Future Form programme will have the Classical Syllabus as its foundation, but will also cover Contemporary interpretations and applications of certain exercices, preparing teachers for the modern day reality of work in the Pilates industry, where teachers are increasingly expected to teach a wider and more contemporary range of class styles.
The unique, hybrid nature of the Future Form Programme is possible thanks to our appreciation of both the Contemporary and Classical Pilates schools and will be facilitated by Future Form’s state-of-of-the-art teacher training facility in Nice, which is equipped with the best Classical (Gratz) and Contemporary (Balanced Body) Pilates apparatus.
The training will be over a duration of 700 to 800 hours and will be comprised of a series of Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced-level modules, covering all aspects of Pilates practice and equipment – namely Mat, Reformer, Cadillac, Wunda Chair, Arm Chair, Ladder Barrel, Spine Corrector, Pedi-pole, etc., as well as Anatomy and Biomechanics.
The programme will be devised and taught by Jenny Backlund-Jenkins, Founder of Future Form.
After graduating from the Classical Dance Academy in Gothenburg, Sweden, Jenny went on to have a highly successful 15 year career as a professional dancer. Her passion for working with and understanding the body then led to her becoming a Pilates teacher in 2010.
Since graduating from A-Lyne Studio, Paris, with a comprehensive Pilates teacher certification from Balanced Body, Jenny has amassed an incredibly deep and broad Pilates knowledge. This is the result of having accumulated thousands of teaching hours, as well as tirelessly pursuing further education in the Pilates world, including her completion of the Beginner to Advanced-level Classical Syllabus conversion course in New York, with renowned Classical Master Teacher, Mejo Wiggins.
In order to be eligible for entry to the Future Form Pilates Teacher Training Programme, students will need to meet the following criteria :
• Be at least 18 years of age.
• Have working knowledge of both French and English languages (not fluency, but ability to communicate adequately in both).
• Have attained an intermediate/advanced level Pilates practice as a student. Applicants will be required to take an admission test to prove their level of Pilates practice as sufficient to start the course.
• Applicants judged to have an insufficient level of Pilates practice will be required to carry out further practice before gaining entry at a later cycle. The amount and nature of further practice would be to be defined on a case-by-case basis by Future Form.
