About Us

Who Are We?

Founded in 2011 in Paris, Future Form is a comprehensive Pilates and Ballet Form™ studio, that also proposes yoga and Zumba classes, as well as a growing range of wellness activities. The studio moved to Nice in January 2014 and is owned and run by couple Ed (translator & web management consultant) & Jenny Jenkins (ex-top level professional dancer).

Future Form's goal is to provide the highest quality of service in a friendly, personalised and international environment and to be a vibrant hub of all things Pilates, yoga, dance and wellness on the French Riviera.

Jenny the Dancer

Before her career as a Pilates, Ballet Form and Zumba teacher, Jenny had a long and distinguished international career as a dancer.

After graduating from the renowned Balletakademien dance school in Gothenburg, modelling and film work was to follow, first in London and then New York, before Jenny landed a role with Lido La Tournée, the illustrious touring troupe section of the Lido cabaret in Paris.

After Lido La Tournée, Jenny, embarked on a hugely successful six year stint at the most famous cabaret of them all - the Moulin Rouge in Paris, where her most notable achievement was to dance the principal female role.

Like many dancers, Jenny practiced Pilates from early on in her career. The benefits of Pilates vis-à-vis core strengthening, improved alignment and greater flexibility have been well known in the dance world for decades - in large part thanks to the legacy of Contemporary Dance pioneer Martha Graham's early patronage of Joseph Pilates' "Contrology" methods. This tradition of Pilates-dance symbiosis goes a long way to explaining why, like Jenny, so many Pilates teachers are themselves ex-professional dancers.

Jenny the Pilates Teacher

After leaving the stage in 2010, Jenny immediately turned her focus to perfecting her Pilates technique and training to become a Pilates instructor. That same year, she enrolled on the comprehensive Balanced Body University Pilates teacher training programme at A-Lyne studio in Paris, where, under the tutelage of master treachers Kelly Moriarty and Martine Curtis-Oakes, she gained all of the requisite mat and machine certificates on her way to graduating with a Comprehensive Pilates diploma in March 2011.

Keeping the Dance Alive

Alongside her Pilates training, Jenny also became a fully certified Zumba ZIN member - keeping her passion for dance alive by thrilling Parisians with her irresistible Zumba choreographies. It was also at this time that Jenny evolved Ballet Form™, her own original barre method.

The Move to Nice

After many successful years we were very sad to leave Paris behind. However, with a second baby on the way and the dream opportunity of setting up shop in the beauty of the French Riviera, everything was right for a move South. So, when the fantastic opportunity of opening up Future Form at 6 rue Massena arose in mid-2013, we wasted no time in embarking on our new adventure in the sun.
